Simultaneous Receptive Fields Mapping in Cat Visual Areas 17/18 during Multielectrode Recording
Kim Jong-Nam

Abstract
The aim of the study was to map receptive fields (RFs) during multiple recordings (100 electrodes) in cat visual areas 17 and 18. All but small residual eye movements were eradicated with intravenous gallamine triethiodide. RF dimensions and centering were quantified with sinusoidal grating stimuli: a short length with a full length or a short width with a full length, along and across the RF, respectively. Most neurons RFs were successfully mapped at the optimal direction and at the non-optimal directions as well. The arrangement of RFs¡¯ location was not clear between each electrodes and scatter is general.
